Student Insurance Brochure

1 to 1 Information

In order to provide equitable access to technology the District loans a device to all students in grades K to 8 for the entire school year. The high school allows students to use their own device if they choose but will also provide devices for any students who do not have access to one.  In Northborough students in grades K and 1 will receive iPads and students in grades 2 through 8 will be given a chromebook. In Soutborough, Neary students as well as students in grades K and 1 will receive iPads.  The students at Woodward and Trottier will receive chromebooks.  Pre-school classrooms will be equipped with iPads for students to use.  All devices will be given to students during the first week of school by their classroom teacher.

Optional Insurance Program:
As stated in the loaner contract that was acknowledged in the Agreements section of the Returning Student forms families assume responsibility and financial obligation for repair and/or replacement (approximate maximum replacement cost $330) if the device is lost, stolen, damaged, or not returned.  All families have the option to purchase insurance for the device through the Worth Ave. Group, which is a private insurer.  Insurance with Worth Ave. Group will protect the device against an assortment of damages. This insurance policy will provide full replacement cost coverage. This policy is also transferable to a replacement unit. To access information about purchasing private insurance with the Worth Ave Group for the 2022-2023 school year use this link . For more information about liability and damage please click here.

Upon unenrolling a child from the Public Schools of Northborough and Southborough for any reason, parents are obligated to immediately return the District owned device and all of its accessories.
